Hic went the frog,
On one fine and sunny say,
Hic, hic, hic,
They wouldn’t go away.
“I know what to do,”
Said Henrietta the fish,
“Close your eyes and count to ten,
and make a special wish.”
Florence did as she was told,
Thinking they would be gone in a tick,
But then she flew off the ground,
With a very large silly HIC!
“I know what to do!”
Said Terrance the Turtle with a frown,
“Spin and hop a hundred times,
Then stay upside down!”
Florence did as she was told,
Thinking they would be gone in a tick,
She felt very silly indeed,
As from her mouth erupted a HIC!
“I know what to do,”
Said little Junior the newt,
“Hold your breath for a minute,
then shout root-ta-toot!”
Florence did as she was told,
Thinking they would be gone in a tick,
She felt very dizzy from holding her breath,
And she couldn’t help but HIC!
“Oh it’s no good,” moaned Florence,
“Leave me alone is what I’d prefer!”
She spun, hopped, counted and held her breath
So everyone had hiccups but her!
