The Dull Bits

Lenny the Orangutan

Although Lenny was an Orangutan he simply hadn’t a clue,
How to do things Monkeys normally do.

All the monkeys his age wanted to climb if they had the chance,
Or swing from tree to tree but Lenny wanted to dance.

He tapped in the trees,
Tapped on the ground,
Tapped everywhere so that, the monkeys hated the tapping sound.

“Monkey’s aren’t made to dance,” they said, “Stop that terrible din!”
But Lenny shrugged and wondered off and danced again with a grin.

Lenny spun and turned and jumped with a little tiny hop,
As the monkeys called a meeting and decided to make it stop.

As Lenny tapped again they cried, “stop that racket now!”
When he finished his little dance he finished with a bow.

“And there you have it,” Lenny said, “just a taster of my tap!”
And all of a sudden the other Monkeys all started to clap.

“To think we thought of it as noise!” They said “we defiantly take it back”
They all bought their own shoes and became the monkey tapping pack.
