Ruby the Tiger
Ruby was a Tiger,
Living in the forest as you might have guessed,
But she wasn’t wild and scary,
And frightening like the rest.
She was a vegetarian,
She kept right out of the mud,
When she jumped she hurt a paw,
And she fainted at the sight of blood.
When she couldn’t get her food,
She cried with her tail over her eye,
She couldn’t jump to get the berries,
As they grew on the tree too high.
“Ha ha!” The tigers laughed,
“You are a pathetic little beast!
You couldn’t even catch a mouse,
A mouse at the very least!”
“Yes I can!” Said Ruby,
“I will prove it to you!
I can be a scary beast,
A scary beast through and through!”
She stomped off into the forest,
And cried there for a week,
And when she kept on howling,
She heard a little tiny squeak.
“Miss Ruby?” The little mouse asked,
“You need some help and advice,
I heard that you are in trouble,
And I want to help you, as you are nice.”
“Sure, what can I do?” said Ruby,
The mouse said “get me some berries from that tree,
And in return as a thank you,
We will pretend you’ve eaten me.”
Ruby helped the mouse get his food,
Put the mouse in her mouth, except the tail,
When the other tigers saw it wiggle,
They all began to wail.
“Knew you could do it Ruby!” They cried,
As they high fived her paw,
But they never knew from that moment onwards,
Ruby and the mouse were friends forever more.
