Russell the Sprout
I am a sprout, round juicy and green
But though I’m really yummy some people can be mean
For though many people have me on their dinner plates at tea,
But for some reason no one wants to eat me.
They eat all the yucky carrots but when they see me they moan-
So they leave me on the plate all on my own.
This makes me feel very lonely, ugly and sad,
Which is very silly really as I don’t taste all that bad.
But my job as a sprout can be interesting for I can be a spy,
As mummies tell their children they ate all theirs which often is a
lie.
I’ll tell you about one meal time, one that wasn’t great,
When everyone’s backs were turned I was flicked from plate to plate.
So next time you see a sprout, don’t chuck it straight away,
Gobble it up quickly and make that little sprouts day.
