The Dull Bits

Tallulah the Hippo

Tallulah was a fat hippo,
She didn’t watch her weight,
Which wasn’t a problem normally
If she didn’t want to ice skate.

She wanted to be an ice skater,
She had already made up her mind,
But she wasn’t fast or graceful
And always ended on her behind.

When she jumped she never left the ground,
Her spins were always slow,
She could never remember her dances
So it never seemed to flow.

The competition grew closer,
Tallulah had no hope although,
No one else had entered,
Only Ruby the Tiger and Anna the Flamingo.

Soon it was competition day,
Tallulah really wanted to impress,
The entire animals of the jungle,
In her big red sparkly dress.

Anna the Flamingo went first,
And spun round more than twice,
But the crowd gasped and when she
jumped
She fell right down on the ice.
Next it was Ruby the Tiger,
Who started off rather well,
But when it came to her last spin,
She span too fast and then fell.

Now it was Tallulah the Hippo,
She was very slow and shy,
Until she tripped over her laces,
Jumped and began to fly.

Up and up she went,
She twisted ten times round,
Then she landed gracefully,
And safely on the ground.

Hurrah! The animals cheered,
As Tallulah finished with a grin,
Hastily collected her shiny medal,
Tallulah kept it a secret what made her win.
