The Dull Bits

The Clown with No Name

Once upon a time at a circus,
There was a rubbish clown,
That couldn’t make anyone laugh,
As he always wore a frown.

He could never remember any jokes,
He dropped the spinning plates on the floor,
Sometimes he even scared himself,
Oh he really was a bore.

But certainly most interesting of all,
The audience didn’t know who to blame,
For unlike all the other clowns,
This one had no name.

This very odd and strange fact,
Baffled the ring master most of all,
For when he introduced this clown act,
He didn’t know who to call.

“So ladies and Gentleman,” He said
Everyone be seated please,”
For now I have to welcome...Someone,
Call him what you please.”

“I think he’s called grumpy!”
An audience member said,
“Rubbish!” “Garbage!” Were other names,
As they threw tomatoes at his head.

The Clown with no name wondered off stage,
When they booed him he felt very sad,
It wasn’t his fault he was so rubbish,
Or that he was very bad.
